Care Instructions

Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent. Air dry. Some color variation or ink smudges are expected with hand-blockprinted products. Natural dyes, especially indigo, bleeds.

What is Hand-Blockprinting?

Hand-blockprinting is an ancient craft tradition that started in the Sindh region (Pakistan/South Asia) dating back thousands of years. In this technique, designs are carved on wooden blocks. Then those wooden blocks are used to make prints on fabric, using a 17-step process involving resist printing, dyeing, washing, and re-dyeing. Some print may be smudged, or dyes (especially black or indigo) may run a little.
